We take play seriously

We connect children, from birth, to high-quality inspiring arts and culture

We promote the value of play in the emotional, physical and social development of children and families

We encourage children and their grown ups to have fun together

Our ethos is influenced by our experiences of parenthood and navigating the highs and lows of the creative power within us. We firmly believe that all children deserve the opportunity to play with materials, to engage with the world with curiosity and to make creative choices on their own terms.

  • Our work is about making these opportunities happen; in everyday spaces, in schools, in organisations for children and adults alike. We know when we bring adults into our work that they gain so much from playing too!

  • We want to help build the confidence & skills of young children and adults alike, raise expectations around play and facilitate new opportunities to learn from each other

  • Our sessions build on children’s natural curiosity, helping them to learn about their world through play.

  • Everything at a Make Play session is handmade by ourselves or co-produced with children and adults in our groups. Our play environments and projects constantly evolve as we watch and learn from children’s play.
